WEST. is a slightly melancholic and subjective narrative about the landscape changed by man and the space colonized by the idea of freedom and so called “American dream”. Traveling several times through the United States of America in the footsteps of images produced by pop culture, I try to understand and rediscover places known from iconic images. The route from the East to the West gave me a chance to confront my own observations with popular visual clichés of “Americanness”. The WEST is about reinterpreting of these clichés, as well as observing a space dominated by an excess of human needs, overwhelming turism and contradictory needs of people and land. WEST. is an ongoing project since 2014.
