This is a park near Lake Sayran, located within the boundaries of Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was once a sand and gravel quarry, but in 1971, it was flooded, creating the lake we see today. Last year, the lake was drained as part of an urban development project called "Total Morphing." This fall, all the lawns, grass, and trees around Sayran were painted cyan. I’ve heard this is a new seed-planting technology. When I look at the vibrant mass that covers everything around, I notice small pieces of shredded newspaper with individual letters, and tiny elongated objects scattered throughout. These are likely the seeds. Local residents believe the land was painted purely for aesthetic reasons. And indeed, Sayran looks stunning aesthetic.
