ABOUT
We are glad to launch our 6th edition of Urbanautica Institute Annual Awards dedicated to the photographic project in 5 categories! See examples of selected works from previous editions below. We are looking to reward photographers who have distinguished themselves with:
We have chosen specific categories and topics. We are aware that there are different and alternative approaches today to the photographic medium and the production of images, and we welcome a variety of photographic modalities (linguistic, structural, formal and expressive) through which these issues are addressed. We care about the depth of intuitive thinking as much as the strength and coherence of the proposal. Discover the 30 photographers featured on the Catalog of Urbanautica Institute Awards (almost 250 pages with great photographic works and insightful texts). This is our favorite and probably our most important publication! Moreover our Annual Institute Awards Contest is an observatory and archive of ideas, perspectives, arguments, criticisms, awareness, and possibilities. A precious mine from which we regularly draw inspiration for our writings, reviews and publications.
Awards categories are:
1. Representations of Space, Architecture and Conflicts
2. Nature, Environment and Perspectives
3. Memories and Traditions
4. People and Communities
5. Anthropology and Territories
See below for description of each category and a selection of past edition awards.
