Eternity! Eternity! is a journey through a strange land, with explorations in violence, belief, and uncertainty along the way. The impetus of the project was a focus on this idea of “small town science fiction” (the title comes from a line in H.G. Wells’s War of the Worlds), but became more “social science fiction” as these images were made and gathered throughout the U.S. over the last 6 years. Collecting these images, a mysterious vernacular emerged, a foreign kind of familiar. Eternity! Eternity! is a meditation on this place I call home, and the complex relationship it has with belief.
