Forests in Western Europe aren’t the primeval forests we like them to be. They are a result of a man altered or even created landscape. We shape it according our own changing rules how to we think nature should be. I show some small twigs of these interventions of how we try manage nature, mixed with the signs how the this regulated nature itself responses. And also how it still fulfills the role of a romantic dream we seek in the forest.
This serie presented is an extract of a bigger serie which focus on how you experience the forest during a morning walk.
For three years I went for a walk in the woods of Beerschoten near De Bilt almost every morning. The general story is about this ritual to walk every morning in the same forest, to see through this monotony the details which are crumbs of a bigger story. Another important element is experiencing that a simple forest walk makes you look around open-mindedly and lets you become one with nature. Some of these elements seeps through in this smaller serie presented here.
