My photographs are a look at sadness. The small moments of the mundane which demand you stop and look carefully. Stories which unfold only when time is taken to read them. These images are not about nostalgia or a time gone bye but the dreams that seem to have not come true. A gum ball machine with a missing child's photo and info, as if this is some sort of cruel joke? The fire at a dinner which has been in the family for generations which will never be rebuilt. A shackled horse with a black rider, the ugly symbol of slavery which still flies with pride. These images are filled with a sense of under lying sorrow. A representation of life's small tragedies. We are ridiculed by our fantasies of happiness.
