The day of December 20 is known in Romanian popular tradition as the "Ignat of the pigs". Pig slaughter is one of Romanian customs which still passed down from generation to generation. Although the European Union regulations are asking for new procedures, in rural areas people are keeping the tradition unchanged.I try with my series to capture the tradition as it is now, in case it will soon change through the new regulations. I photographed from Nov 26th to december 5th in 4 locations near Cluj Napoca. I shot with a 28 mm lens on Kodak tri-x 400, 11 rolls.
