In July 2017, the National park of Vesuvius was destroyed by numerous fires.
More than 2700 hectares of pine forests were lost, 50 millions bees died.
I grew up with my family in those pine forests for twenty five years, the Vesuvius was a presence for me. When I left my family home it became landscape.
When Vesuvius began to burn it stopped being landscape and it awakened as an interior presence within me. The day after I decided to go to help firemen to stop the fires.
When fires were extinguished I began to take pictures, I spent three and a half years in those forests.
