Never Far Removed explores the complexities of navigating a human-altered world and the continued longing to experience the landscape as an extension of myself. As a western-minded human I was brought up with the idea that nature and humanity are separate from one another. In this ongoing project I took advantage of the photographic medium for its successful way of conveying a human-like experience of reality. By evidencing the seemingly mundane environments that have been disguised as ‘natural’, often portrayed by palpable geometric outlines, I intend to explore the new forms of interaction between what is natural and artificial and discover from a multiespecies perspective points of contact where nature and humanity were never far removed.
