15,000 kilometers, in the West and South-West of the United States of America, traveled "on the road".
The importance of moving with the body, but above all with the mind, guides my documentation process State after State.
I went through different "biomes" in my 33 days of travel divided into two expeditions, one in May 2022 in California (submitted pictures) and surrounding areas and the other in November 2022, where I traveled 6 different states of the American Southwest (not yet published still in development).
The Safari presents itself as an expedition that sees me personally involved as a supervisor of an unknown and curious reality and where the compositions become images of a Man-Altered Landscape, a term coined in the mid-1970s by the photographic current "New Topographics”, aimed at the representation of a new type of panorama, which documents the decay of a now-defunct and abandoned era, albeit known and acclaimed in modern culture.
Shot on medium format film.
Planned release book in 2023.
Category for the call: Anthropology and Territories.
