“Tuscia” is an ongoing project which aims to study the territory located in the northern part of the Lazio region to understand the meaning of “Landscape.”
The Italian Undersecretary for Culture Vittorio Sgarbi has as one of his subjects matter the safeguarding of Tuscia's landscape sacrality against “the rape of renewable energies.”
However, what are we referring to when we talk about a landscape?
Following the nostalgic concept, a landscape is nothing more than the sets of the naturalness of a place and its anthropization by our ancestors.
According to the needs, Man has permanently altered and exploited the territory, modifying its characteristics and the associated landscape.
Tuscia’s area is subject to exploitation due to its peculiar climatic and territorial characteristics for constructing renewable energy structures. It could even become the site for the National Nuclear Waste Deposit.
The contemporary alteration of the territory creates, together with what this land has been and the current changes, what the future landscape will be, which will outline the history of a region and the Humans within it.
