This selection of images comes from a photographic work produced in the surbubs of Lyon (where I live ) aiming to convey a geographical and social reality, as well as an inner landscape shaped by lived experience and sensation.
On these former agricultural lands that have become suburban areas, the density of housing units coexists with vacant spaces, derelict plots with lower productive value.
The project also revolves around the boundaries between city and nature and the names of places or local sites that evoke other uses and imaginaries (Chemin de halage, Chemin du charbonnier, Plage de la Baraka, Surville, Les Balmes, Cité du Mont Cindre, Cité du Mont Blanc…).
All my images are realised with a large format camera. By combining description with a contemplative dimension, I attempt to explore the aesthetic and symbolic qualities of these spaces. Careful use of light and composition creates contrast of form, color and material, breathing life and poetry into these landscapes, which in their own way bear witness to the living conditions of their inhabitants.
