Oratino is a small village in the heart of Molise, inhabited by just a handful of people. It allowed me to experience an archaic world shaped by memory and a deep sense of belonging. Here, time seems to have stood still, and people live in close symbiosis with nature, mindful of the importance of respecting and caring for the animals and the environment they share.
Life here is difficult, yet this community has found a way to tell its story with quiet dignity and strength. In this seemingly forgotten place, the raw aesthetics of a life lived close to the essence of things brought me back to an ancient, almost mythical atmosphere, imbued with a sense of eternity. Here, I rediscovered my own connection to the land, my own roots.
In this short sequence, drawn from a larger body of work, I have sought to recount my journey through this territory, which revealed to me the visceral bond between all the living beings that inhabit it, engaged in a timeless dialogue.
In a world searching for renewed forms of sustainability, I share a form of wisdom rooted in ancient knowledge: a proud awareness of one's own journey on this earth, guided by a profound respect for the sacredness of what is essential.
