The human identity of everyday objects and common places fascinates me. I tell stories through them because they allow me to play in that space between reality and fiction, in the world of double meanings and metaphors. I look for humor and poetry in inanimate elements in order to humanize them.
In the project ‘The quiet people’ I walked the streets of the city of Madrid imagining daily life scenes in urban spaces, which seemed to me to be living rooms, bedrooms or kitchens. I began looking for, collecting and placing household objects where I imagined they wanted to be. Later I photographed them and I started to believe that they were people who had been standing still for so long that they had ended up becoming inanimate elements, but still with remainings of their own personality. Somehow, I was searching for my place in a new city where I had to inhabit.
