Joan-of-Arc is a vanished village located on the fertile lands that once bordered Lake Saint-Jean in Canada. These lands were submerged in a secret action carried out jointly by foreign companies and the government, which transformed the lake into a hydroelectric reservoir larger than announced. Working on the memory surrounding this flood that occurred in 1926 and in particular on that of this village is for me a way of bringing up metaphors on the challenges of the 21st century (migration of populations, environments in danger, polarization of discourse). Drawing inspiration from this past drama, this series in progress is meant to be a helping hand towards the future.
