Since the first day of quarantine I had given myselft just two rules: do not think about the aftermath and do not accept any video-calls. At the beginning the exceptional nature of the situation was an adrenaline rush, but over time you slowly get used to it. I live in the countryside where the effects of coronavirus are less impressive than in the city and this can be frustrating for a photographer. The bright side are the narrow streets around, an escape to overcome the sense of claustrophobia. I started taking pictures inside my perimeter, or little outside, without the aim of wanting to tell something. It was a different kind of gym that made pandemic isolation more comfortable. Hence the title borrowed from Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove in which the bugbear was war. However, in the end, I accepted two video-calls.
