March 2020. The world finds itself living a historical and catastrophic event dictated by a pandemic of COVID-19 aka Coronavirus. The whole world is forced to stay at home except for necessary survival needs such as buying food and health reasons. Each person must respect the regulations of the various decrees that are disclosed, under penalty of fines and imprisonment. Everyone is living a very delicate and difficult moment: forced cohabitation, total isolation and everyone has to deal with their own emotions and those of others up close. For too long perhaps we have moved away from this practice, that of knowing in depth our own feelings or understanding those of others, because we live in an age in which life is always in a hurry and hardly ever slows down. Now's your chance. Reflect on everything we have always perceived and how but also on what we have neglected, postponed, canceled. The only element common to all: time. Time, accompanied by a strong feeling of transformation. One has gone from one season to another without living it, standing behind the window of one's room; beards grow or are cut, habits change, creating new ones. Change the body. They grow hair, because time flows like a river in flood but not only, they also change in consistency, they take on a different shape, different smells, it's like they take on their own life if you let them go alone. Since the Italian decree banned leaving the house I wanted to tell something that cannot be stopped, to be a spectator. For 15 days the hair was just stroked. Every day, at the same time, the photograph told this show of metamorphosis. Not only seeing but also feeling the time passing, being able to touch it has allowed us to understand how much isolation can generate conflicting feelings such as anxiety and joy, discouragement and reaction, sadness and excitement. To live one's own time, to know it, to understand it makes one reflect on how much one can generate new visions, different ways of living as soon as one can have contact between people. In the meantime, if you want the smell, the skin, the breath, but only with the wait will it be possible to touch, to experience the change that the hair in the photo has undergone. They wanted to live, they'll keep on living.
