A Threefold Experience of Spaces has its origins in a place that I often passed and which caught my attention because of its raw character: the industrial periphery of the city of Utrecht. However, it was also a place of which I hardly absorbed the banal characteristics. In the project, I focus on material fragments that are characteristic of the way in which the physical space is presented to me in this peripheral area. I immerse myself in artificial stone-like materials, such as concrete, which are used as a building material and form the basis for objects that I have found in this industrial area. In photographic images I deconstruct the fragments I found next to creating my own material. By combining these fragments in different contexts I want to re-relate them to their place of origin and create a tension between reality and non-reality.
