"Under the Rainbow" is about the Las Olaias, a housing complex built in the 1980s on the outskirts of Lisbon, with a post-modern style, pastel colors and painted rainbow murals.
Its construction was an attempt to bring happiness to the Portuguese people, fresh out of the gray years of the dictatorship. It was the arrival of a new order: the capitalist utopia.
The result is an artificial place that, even having its houses inhabited, feels uninhabited. A paradox where the human being and nature have a ghostly presence.
