Society is replaced, adapted and changed.
The image I express in pictures is the image of a society that is replaced and changing.
Self-mechanics like kiosks continue to emerge in our lives and people adapt to them. As the city changed one by one, it became interesting to see the city adapting. These human roles show the changes in the urban environment that are being replaced by unmanned systems.
From self-service gas stations and unmanned parking machines, which are common in everyday life, to electric kickboards and bicycle rental machines that are frequently seen on the streets with a system called sharing, they found and filmed things that replace human work. In the early stages of the work, many photographs were taken in Japan, where unmanned systems were located before Korea, and in line with the spread of Covid-19 and the so-called "untact era," various machines were introduced in Korea as well as Japan. Changes seen in the city center of both Korea and Japan were filmed. Due to the sharing economy, electric kickboards and electric bicycles have increased significantly around the metropolitan area, and we combine the trend of sharing within unmanned systems with the keyword replacement.
Daytime when people work mainly and nights when there are relatively few people are in contrast, and in addition to the frequent operation of the machine's unmanned system, it is filmed during the night time when machines are emphasized rather than during the busy day. On a dark night, I thought that the appearance of machines working under artificial lighting showed a "different society where humans do not exist," replacing human labor. The dark background and the color of the machine stand out, and the difference between the colors and shapes of each machine is emphasized. They look like members of society at night because colors and forms are all different as well. When you see machines located at the time and place where people were working, you realize the fast-paced change in the city. Even at this moment, the city keeps changing. At a time when this trend of change occurs around the world, texts that reveal the place nature of a country or city are removed. It obscures placeability and role and concentrates entirely on the city's appearance. With such listed images, it aims to show a cross-section of a society in which human beings are being alienated from their own society, where unmanned systems coexist with humans and replace humans today.
